The Plan Commission is currently in the process of rewriting the Village Zoning Code. We have hired Duncan and Codametrics to assist us in the rewrite process. The project began in 2018 and is estimated to be completed in 2020. This project is following years of research and discussion of how to address the existing outdated code. The zoning code was written in 1972, when the village was growing in a different way; developing new commercial nodes and subdivisions on farm fields and wooded lots. Today, development and growth is primarily infill; taking place near established neighborhoods or along built commercial corridors. A new zoning code will align with our goals identified in our Comprehensive Plan and streamline development, while protecting the character and charm of Allouez.
We will have multiple opportunities for the public to be involved and provide needed input, including an open house on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Village Hall (1900 Libal Street). Please review the documents below and join us for the open house. No formal presentation will be given, but representatives will be available to answer questions and talk about the project.
If you have specific questions, please contact Trevor Fuller, Planning and Zoning Administrator, at 920-448-2800 ext. 134 or firstname.lastname@example.org
